Global chemical client was in the process to spin off and create three brand new companies to increase market focus and business agility.
The Approach
Design and develop a change management strategy and enablement to enable IT migration and knowledge transfer.
Planning
- Conducted an inventory of all IT applications.
- Analyzed dependencies, criticality, and prioritize migration order.
- Identified key stakeholders and application owners across both companies.
- Established governance structure and steering committee.
Strategy
- Developed an IT migration strategy and roadmap.
- Assessed the impact of the migration on talent, processes, culture and organization.
- Built personas and identify key moments of change.
- Designed change strategy, and approach for implementation.
Migration
- Delivered communication and stakeholder engagement activities to ensure awareness and adoption.
- Managed knowledge capture and knowledge transfer plan.
- Launched knowledge transfer portal as a single source of information and learning.
Post-Migration
- Provided training and support to employees to help them adapt to the new systems.
The Results
- 400 applications, 80 databases and 250 virtual machines from 3 data centers were migrated in year one.
